Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he would support a pre-emptive strike against Iran's nuclear program. Israeli leaders have long identified Iran as the nation's biggest threat. Israel accuses Tehran of supporting Palestinian militant groups and rejects Iran's claim that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville

Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville (July 29, 1805 – April 16, 1859) was a French political thinker and historian best known for his Democracy in America (appearing in two volumes: 1835 and 1840) and The Old Regime and the Revolution (1856). In both of these works, he explored the effects of the rising equality of social conditions on both the individual and the state in western societies.

Democracy in America (1835), his major work, published after his travels in the United States, is today considered an early work of sociology. An eminent representative of the liberal political tradition, Tocqueville was also an active participant in French politics, first under the July Monarchy (1830–1848) and then during the Second Republic (1849–1851) which succeeded to the February 1848 Revolution. He retired from political life after Louis Napoléon Bonaparte's December 2, 1851 coup, and thereafter began work on The Old Regime and the Revolution, Volume I of which was completed by the time he died.

Dear Doug,

I see that you like photography. I like it too. I use a Kodak Easy Share DX4900. However, I have begun a new adventure with videography. I bought a Sony DCR-SR80 with a sixty gigabyte hard-disk drive. It's a fine piece of equipment which cost about $900.00.

Take a look at my photos and videos to sample my submissions to Myspace. My favorite posted photo is the sailboat (Newport RI) in front of the bridge. I like nautical photos. "Oh God, Thy sea is so great and my boat is so small." I used to think of this quotation when I served in the Navy aboard an aircraft carrier.

The global war against Islamic Fascism is in the first inning only. It is unlike the Vietnam War insofar as the new war will not end when we leave Iraq. The militants will follow us to continue the fight. The combatants that we don't kill in Iraq will have to be killed later in the United States. Let's kill them in their own countries.

Newt Gingrich said a funny thing about Walter Mondale when he quoted the astute observation of Woodrow Wilson. "Never murder a man [politician] who is in the process of committing [political] suicide." I agree. Hence, when the Kook Fringe of the Loony Left acts insane, Republicans must provide them as much publicity as possible. Because Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have done a superb job exposing the Loony Left, the Liberals, to paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, can't fool all of the people all of the time.

DR Charles Frazier Stanley (intouch.org) gave a great sermon on 04 Jul 2007. He proclaimed that thirty-plus years of LIBERALISM have been a disaster for the United States. I agree completely. His Baptist view of our country is "spot on." You can listen to a 15-minute recording of this particular oration on my blog thanks to Odeo. It is worth the time to listen. He quoted Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville who said in his 1830s book, Democracy in America, that America will continue to be great so long as America continues to be good. DR Stanley is absolutely right.

You would have a lot of fun if you were to post nautical pictures of Washington state. People would enjoy viewing that artistic theme.
